When looking through my CD collection alphabetically, Acid Bath is the first. Acid Bath is a sludge metal band formed in 1991 and stopped playing around 1997.

Acid Bath’s 1994 album, When the Kite String Pops, is that first album in my collection. It was also the first CD that I had bought myself. I really like this album, and it is definitely one of the heaviest I have.

The album cover has garnered some controversy over the years. The cover art features a painting from one of the most prolific serial killers, John Wayne Gacy.

The sound of this album is a mix of heavy and sometimes slow guitar riffs, with growling vocals. There are some songs where everything gets lighter and the singing gets very melodic, but then pick up in speed and the growling vocals pick back up.

Overall, I really like this album, and I recommend this band to anyone who really likes different genres of metal.
