This is my 1st CD of Daniel Johnston’s. Daniel Johnston was a musician known for his lo-fi, home-recorded music. He would write and record his music on cassette tapes and then hand them out to customers at a McDonald’s where he worked in the 80’s. He would later gain more popularity in the 90’s.

This CD was released in 2003 but has music made by Johnston from 1981 and 1983. This CD has 2 discs. Disc 1 is from his 1981 album Songs of Pain, this album has 20 songs and a run time of around 57 minutes. Disc 2 is from his 1983 album More Songs of Pain, and has 18 songs with a run time of around 48 minutes.

MY OPINION

I really like Daniel Johnston. Even though he might not make the most appealing music to people, his music and work are inspiring. He recorded and wrote all his stuff alone in his house. If you like weird music or want to listen to something new, I highly recommend listening to Daniel Johnston’s work.
