Beach Rats! Beach Rats are a recent punk supergroup that uses the sound of classic 80’s and 90’s punk. The group is made up of Ari Katz, Bryan Kienlen, Pete Steinkopf, and the famous Brian Baker. Brian Baker is a guitarist that has played with many classic and popular punk bands. He’s been in Minor Threat, Dag Nasty, and Bad Religion.
Rat Beat is their first album released in 2022, having only released singles and an EP in 2018. There is a total of 12 songs on this album with a playtime of almost 22 minutes. They haven’t released anything else since this album.
MY OPINION
There isn’t too much to say about this album. It’s a basic and decent punk album. My favorite song is Summers End, the 5th track on this album. None of the other songs really stand out. But Summers End has a pretty cool guitar part, which stands out more than the others.
